Abstract
This article examines the formation and expansion of learners’ vocabulary in the process of foreign language acquisition, as well as the development of skills for active vocabulary use. Vocabulary is considered not only as the foundation of language proficiency but also as a crucial component of communicative competence. The paper analyzes the influence of learners’ motivation, learning strategies, teaching methods, and modern technologies on vocabulary acquisition, supported by practical examples. The main objective of the study is to identify effective approaches to developing vocabulary during foreign language learning and to propose methodological recommendations beneficial for Uzbek-speaking learners.
