Abstract

This article analyzes the main challenges encountered in the process of developing writing skills among students who learn English as a Second Language (ESL). Writing is considered one of the most complex aspects of language learning, as it requires grammatical competence, lexical richness, logical thinking, and cultural awareness. The study examines linguistic and psychological barriers found in ESL students’ written works, first language interference, lack of motivation, and the effectiveness of teaching methods. In addition, the significance of modern pedagogical approaches in teaching writing skills is highlighted.
