Abstract
The article discusses the specific factors and distinctive features of the lateral-creative approach. Literary analysis and methodological tools play an important role in literature lessons in general secondary education schools. The study provides several recommendations on educating students’ moral and ethical qualities through teaching literary works, as well as on developing their ability to justify personal viewpoints.
