Abstract
This article analyzes the theoretical and methodological foundations of the integrative approach in the education system, its didactic capabilities and mechanisms for its application in the modern educational process. The pedagogical content of the concept of integration is revealed, its interrelation with the principles of interdisciplinary communication, systematicity, competencybased approach and person-oriented education is substantiated. Also, the integrative approach shows the possibilities of forming a holistic scientific worldview in students, developing creative and critical thinking, and combining theoretical knowledge with practical activities. The article highlights the role of the systemic approach, competency paradigm, axiological and activity approaches as methodological foundations for the application of the integrative approach.
