Abstract
The current study sought to compare the IgG and IgM profiles in critically ill Outpatients paediatric with COVID 19 who did or did not have T1DM. A total of 40 pediatric patients with a mean age approximately <5 years were distributed equally in diabetic and non diabetic groups, based on both IgG and IgM values. Statistical analyses further showed higher levels of both immunoglobulins in the diabetic group (p < 0.05), and thus, autoimmune pathology may affect the humoral immunity against SARS CoV 2 infection. The results shed light on the interrelationship of viral infection and preexistent autoimmune diseases in children.
